NY-21 Deserves a Leader, Not Political Games

Politics should be about people, not power plays. Yet, right now, New York’s 21st Congressional District is caught in the middle of a political tug-of-war between Albany and Washington. And who is paying the price? The hardworking families, small business owners, and farmers of our district who are being left without representation.

The resignation of Rep. Elise Stefanik to take on a role as U.N. Ambassador should have led to a swift and fair special election. Instead, partisan maneuvering has put the process in limbo. State lawmakers in Albany have put a hold on a bill that could delay the election for months—potentially leaving our district without a voice until **June or even November**. At the same time, Washington Republicans are holding up Stefanik’s confirmation because they don’t want to lose another House vote.

Let’s be clear: NY-21 should not be a bargaining chip in political negotiations. The people of our district deserve a representative who works for them, not for party interests.

Our Priorities Can’t Wait
This district is home to thriving small businesses, historic farms, and strong rural communities—but we need real leadership to ensure continued growth. We can’t afford months without a voice in Washington when issues like infrastructure funding, rural broadband access, and economic development hang in the balance.

We need a leader who will stand up for our district, not get caught in the crossfire of political games. We need a leader who is focused on job creation, lower taxes, support for farmers, and making sure our veterans and seniors get the resources they need. We need a representative now, not later.

That’s Why I’m Stepping Up
I love this district. I believe in our people, our industries, and our future. That’s why I’m seriously considering entering the race for Congress—to give NY-21 the strong leadership it deserves.

It’s time to put the North Country first and end the political brinkmanship that is holding our district hostage. Let’s hold the special election now, let’s give the people a choice, and let’s get to work.

Are you with me? Let’s fight for NY-21 together.
